The ripple voltage is the noise, it's the artifact of the switcher that can't be suppressed by the filtering circuit.  This is a LM2546 circuit.   It is a power supply for digital, not audio.  It would not be appropriate or sufficient for audio.

Re: MY RIPPLE IS DOWN TO 100mV! 100mV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna need a bigger filter circuit.  Probably just double up on the input and output caps.  The ones I have are giving remarkably low ESR - 40 milliohm @ 1000uF and they are cheap capacitors.  Very good.  Just need a little more capacitance and maybe make the inductor slightly larger, it may be saturating.  Not sure how to check for that.

It's for a JAMMA smashbox.  I want to just provide 12V in and derive the 5V.  This card provides the logic.  https://www.amazon.com/BLEE-Classical-A … B01IVMXZAK  I provide the 5V rail, lit power switch, and arcade controls, and the box itself.  Box is made of these plus long 6mm bolts so there is total visibility on what is happening, which means the design has to be very very tidy to look good:  https://www.amazon.com/KAITELA-Acrylic- … B0D12TJRSR
