A Florida mom who gave birth last month is now suing an IVF clinic, saying a baby she gave birth to has “no genetic relationship” to either parent, according to a lawsuit.

The Fertility Center of Orlando was named in the lawsuit as a defendant. The lawsuit claims that the anonymous couple — identified only as John and Jane Doe in the filing — began using the center's services in March 2025.

The woman had an embryo implanted that she believed contained both the Plaintiffs’ DNA, and carried the child through a successful full-term pregnancy.

In early December, the woman gave birth to a “beautiful, health female child,” the lawsuit states. But the baby, identified as Baby Doe in court documents, appeared to be a different race, the suit claims.

“While both Jane Doe and John Doe are racially Caucasian, Baby Doe displayed the physical appearance of a racially non-Caucasian child,” the lawsuit states.

This alleged discrepancy caused the couple to “employ genetic testing of the percentage of the child to whom they had given birth,” the lawsuit says. “The testing confirmed that Baby Doe has no genetic relationship to either of the Plaintiffs,” it continues.

“Of equal concern to the (couple) is the obvious possibility that someone else was implanted with one or more of their embryos and... is presently parenting one or more of their children,” the lawsuit added.

The lawsuit says that the couple have developed an "intensely strong emotional bond" to the child "despite the certain knowledge that Baby Doe is not their genetically matched child.” It continues that they would be happy keeping the little girl, but they understand that she should be “legally” and “morally” united with her genetic parents.

"[The couple] would willingly keep her in their care; however, for the sake of both Baby Doe and her genetic parents, they recognize that Baby Doe should legally and morally be united with her genetic parents so long as they are fit, able, and willing to take her," the lawsuit says.

The couple “have an equally compelling right to be fully informed of the disposition of their own embryos and to be relieved of the ever-increasing mental anguish of not knowing whether a child or children belonging to them are in someone else’s care,” the lawsuit continues.

The Independent has requested comment from the couple’s attorneys.

According to News 6 Orlando, the couple has asked the clinic to ask for help identifying their daughter's biological family, but never received a response.

The Independent has contacted The Fertility Center of Orlando for comment. It was not immediately clear which law firm is representing the center or the doctor named in the lawsuit.

The filing demands emergency relief from the court that will compel the clinic to disclose to all of its patients details of the complaint so they can determine whether the girl is their biological child, and if they received the couple’s embryos instead.

The lawsuit also demands that the clinic pays for genetic testing for all relevant patients and their children over the past five years while they had custody of the couple’s embryos. Finally, the suit asks for the clinic to disclose any discrepancy in the parentage of the children of all patients whose birth resulted from embryo implantation through the the last five years.

I would have assumed the women just slept with a different man, but I guess it was an implanted embryo.

I usually like to just post the story and then maybe I come back and reply with my own comments later.

Anyway, my suspicion was maybe it was some guy who worked there secretly doing this sort of thing as he gets off on it. But I don't really know enough about it. Best case scenario some freak mix-up occured. Worst case: it was intentional by some worker there.

Any whyte woman that ended up birfing a half-bucque kid would get upset if she didn't get a chance to experience mind-blowing orgasms from a BBC.

The IVF industry in the US is shady as fuq.
Incompetent staff, huge profits, self pay cash patients, no insurance companies to deal with, no laws on the books or real regulations about what they do. Nobody is accountable. There are “industry guidelines” that are worthless & optional. They will do almost anything for money.

I don't think she is racist. Based on the article she seems like a decent person. I read it yesterday but from what I recall they said they are still willing to raise the child but they want to find the biological parents if possible. Also they are worried that someone else had their biological baby as well.

I swear to god the largest fertility clinic in Maryland that does yuge business on the east coast has a sperm technician guy in charge of collecting semen, labeling, testing and storing properly is tyrone

Most civilized countries have IVF clinics heavily regulated so no weird stuff goes on. Sometimes Americans go to clinics in the Czech Republic because it’s cheap, but the regulations are extremely strict.
The US is the Wild West of anything goes.
If gayness and gribs show up with a pile of money they will hook them up with designer twins & a surrogate, and it magically avoids adoption. A liberal judge signs off on permission to list gayness and gribs directly on the original birth certificate, bypassing the surrogate.

I don't think it is "liberals" responsible for the lack of regulation. This happened in Florida.

Fertility clinics protect the mentally ill, criminals, pedophiles, & abusers who have had their previous kids removed for cause. All they have to do is show up at a clinic with a pile of money, no restrictions whatsoever. People who would never ever qualify to adopt, and people not even allowed to see their own kids, just order new ones. Some of the single mothers seeking out the most corrupt clinics are severely mentally ill, sometimes homeless, very poor, and infertile or old. Scraping together cash or maxxing out 5 credit cards gets them an IVF baby, no mental health or background check to see if they are living out of their car. Once they get pregnant they apply for all the gimmedats possible & declare bankruptcy. The baby becomes the meal ticket from then on.

The clinics defend it saying there are no restrictions in nature for a crack whore or pedophile to get knocked up with street jizz and have more babies, they don’t have to pass a mental exam or prove they can provide first. They are just helping Mother Nature do what these crazies could do naturally. All protected by HIPAA of course.

They shop clinics & states & judges to sign off in advance. Usually it’s straight to CA for the easiest/ cheapest path but it can work out in other states.
They do NOT want the birth certificate to have the surrogate’s name, then they would have to go through the state adoption process which would declare them unfit.
