My PC is acting as a hotspot and my TV is logged into that hotspot.

I hit Win-K and it sees the TV but it doesn't seem to work.

Samsung 55" QLED. 2025 version and all.

All Windows says is "Couldn't connect" when I do Win-K and select it.

Do I need a dongle or some shyt?

I can try my phone. I have all my content on my TV though. Maybe I will try the tablet first. That has a 1TB card in it.

I would really prefer to do it from my PC.

You used to be able to do it by viewing your video within Chrome and then casting Chrome to your SmartTV, but that was years ago - the last time I tried it wasn't working anymore.

Depends on how you consume. I have a dedicated laptop for media connected via HDMI. I use TightVNC to remote into that laptop from my main laptop. I have earphones connected (via Bluetooth) - so I can walk around and do other stuff while listening. Took a while to get this set up - but been using this for years now.

It works for me from Windows 11 to my 2025 Samsung S95F OLED.

Did you check all your TV settings? Also maybe ask ChatGPT.

Are you using Wifi or Ethernet?

I also have a very weird networking situation. I don't have a router. I am simply making my PC into a WiFi Hotspot. The TV can see the hotspot and the PC can see the TV in the hotspot page so I would think that would be working.

PC and TV are both Ethernet. Everything I can have on Ethernet I do.

Probably a good idea. I don't want or need a complex network or a lot of computers. I wanted to do this just to have the capability. Mostly I like watching stuff on my PC. No honest man needs a monitor larger that 27".
