Borders come and go & change. Look at the Italy-Austria border after WWI & WWII, it bounced around and wiggled impotently between towns in the Alps that couldn’t give a fuq. It changed all the time, had no effect on the villages & changed every few years until things settled down. Today there are people trying to claim Italian citizenship but first have to figger out if great-great grampa’s birth village was in Austria or Italy that week.

So, with this reasoning, if an area of a country contains a sizable population of a minority ethic group, the neighboring country of that ethic group should just get the land.

Based on your reasoning, we should give a chunk of Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California to Mexico. Because there are a lot of Mexicans there.

I suppose we should give a chunk of the Midwest to the Germans, since there are a lot of Germans there too.

And of course most of south Florida should be ceded to Cuba.

Indeed, if Mexico declared war on the US and our military was unable to fight them, yes we would lose the war & have to give up land in the surrender agreement. Otherwise the killing extends indefinitely or until the loser - us - is out of people and options.
