Yes, the most common way is to use the SSN of a dead person. But so what? That means they are paying into the system, but can't get anything out. Illegals on the books under a dead person's SSN are having federal, state, local, SS, Medicare taxes skimmed off of their pay, but since they are illegal, they aren't eligible for benefits.

How is this harmful to US citizens and taxpayers?

My SSN was stolen in a hotel break-in years ago.

How is use of my SSN harmful to me?  The IRS sends ME the demand notice for the illegal's taxes.

It's a great idea.  They can swelter as long as they challenge deportation.  It gives them a good reason to GTFO.

Prison labor is the same as slave labor.

In both cases you're getting productive work through the threat of violence.  A better way to get labor is to pay for it and to pay more for better labor.

This is as indisputable as supply and demand.

Maybe let them back into the community and live there until their travel arrangements are final, then make them promise to show up at the airport
