They don't need to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this lie  or that lie is true or false: they just know you are a liar and a bullshytter, so you don't get taken seriously  after you get that reputation, ever again.

he seems to have a good memory and can regurgitate stuff he's read or picked up elsewhere.  He lacks analytical and creative thinking skills.

the ability to do algebra is a decent indicator that someone has at least a 100 iq.  He cannot do algebra.

Flunked out of a third tier community college
Inability to progress beyond a low-level IT support monkey status
$45k top salary
Inability to hold a cogent discussion about maths, politics, science, etc

Mid 80s explains all of this and is in line with average for Mexicans, of which he is one

Those are both 90+ percentile IQs - so you are in fact one of the brighter bulbs in the world.  Out of every 100 random people you come across, you are smarter than 93+ of them.

One's politics is largely a product of intelligence (rational thinking), but if one's life has been particularly disordered, that can cloud a world view considerably.  I think that's what's going on with him - he's had a pretty dysfunctional life, and it's impacted his ability to consider some of the bigger policy questions with impartiality. 

To take your example, while Spanky professes a colorblind view of the world, he lives his own life as a racial realist.  This suggests that his views aren't a product of stupidity, but rather dissonance.

If you think a lack of success is a de facto indicator of stupidity, you're not very bright.  There are many very bright people who accomplish very little, all for a myriad of reasons inherent or external.

I'm not going to waste any more of my time defending Spanky - he's wrong about a lot, but he's not stupid.
