I recently read that most poor people never move more than 100 miles from where they're born, with the exception of things like war or disasters. I guess you could say we left the disaster San Francisco has become.
Years later, San Francisco criminals help themselves to whatever they want, and the residents accept that as "normal". It's not normal.
