Let the industry then put pressure on the oil markets to lower prices. That is the key. Right now they get filthy rich due to it. MAke it so they lose money so they will find "new ways to be motivated" just as Lord Vader says.

No. Fuq them. Just cap the price on the end. Let the gas stations and others put pressure on those scumbags due to them losing money.
The pain can be dealt around more evenly instead of just on consumers. The gas companies have record profits so they can afford to absorb some loss. Sure they won't do so unless basically forced to so that is what we will do. Play hardball.

The whole problem, as Vader says, is a lack of motivation. They have record profits right now and no motivation to get the prices lower. Well it is time to motivate them! Since we can't just execute the CEOs we have to do something else.
