Population is growing too fast, rents will continue to inflate no matter what.

Looks like some of you will be having to work two jobs to afford the Biden rent hikes.

Link?

Perhaps you should be letting the people in dire straights in Florida know where they should be moving to that's still affordable, instead of trolling here all day at your employer's expense.

You know, because you care so much about them.

Nope.  You're not even close.

https://dnyuz.com/2022/06/01/their-solu … strangers/ [Questionable Source (Bagz)]

The NY Solution to the Housing Crisis? Living With Strangers.

Two facts are painfully clear to New Yorkers: The rent is too high, and it keeps getting higher. With the median one-bedroom apartment hovering around $3,500 a month, New York’s rents are officially among the most expensive in the country. Between 2009 and 2018, the city added 500,000 jobs but only 100,000 new housing units. The profound shortage in rental units has forced the city’s residents to figure out their own ways to live affordably.

And that — especially for those moving to the city for the first time — often means living with total strangers.

Some sleep two to a room or in what’s supposed to be the living room; many still struggle to make ends meet, even as they share tiny spaces.

Re: When will the rent bubble pop?

Rents across U.S. rise above $2,000 a month for the first time ever

A new report from Redfin shows that nationally listed rents for available apartments rose 15% from a year ago. And the median listed rent for an available apartment rose above $2,000 a month for the first time.

Rents are up more than 30% in Austin, Seattle, and Cincinnati. In Los Angeles the median asking rent is $3,400. Even in formerly affordable cities such as Nashville it's now $2,140, up 32% from last year.

I had no idea Austin, Seattle and Cincinnati are in Florida.

Pretty much the response that popped into my head.

If you sent all of the monkeys back home, THINK OF ALL OF THE HOUSING UNITS THAT WOULD BE AVAILABLE.

Landlords would have to pay you to move in and keep their properties from deteriorating.

You're priced out forever.  Daytona is building like crazy and rents will continue to go up like Biden's gas prices.

Aye, caramba!
Two to a room?
To me, that would be like living alone in a 50-room mantion, senor!

Re: When will the rent bubble pop?

Since Biden entered office, there's been a surge in the number of people who've crossed the southern border illegally. The figure reached about 2.4 million illegal border crossings from April of last year to this past April, the last month for which there's publicly available data and the month with the highest number of migrant encounters during the Biden administration at 234,088.

By comparison, there were just over 626,000 such crossings from January 2020 to January 2021, former President Trump's last year in office.

Move to a different city. higher paying jobs, lower rents. There is always a better deal.

facepalm

That's because there were no available jobs Trumps last year in office.  There are >10 million job openings in the US today.

Aren't the present job openings due to the end of the lock-down?

Besides that, you whole "available jobs" argument is from an anti-labor, anti-American position. The jobs are offered at third-world wages. Americans can't take those jobs at third-world wages. Instead of offering higher wages, the owners import third-world illegal aliens.

Remember the Sixties when mexican-Americans were screaming about the floods of illegal mexicans being brought in to crush the United Farm Workers union? Mexicans with American citizenship were demanding a stop to the importation of illegal mexicans.

It's the age-old problem of the owners creating surplus labor -- even in violation of the law -- to keep wages down.

Negro slavery. Chinese coolies. Beaner food-pickers. And carpenters and roofers and so on.

It hurts White people.

It hurts Americans.

And it drives up rents. Domestic negroes are finding that out.

Ten mexicans to a room drives up rents.

Forces negroes out of their neighborhoods.

But most of the negroes who vote keep voting for pro-landlord, anti-renter, pro-capital, anti-labor, anti-negro, anti-American candidates.
