Re: Supreme Court to consider landmark challenge to Harvard and UNC affirmative action policies. FAGGERS GOING DOWN!

The court’s new conservative supermajority may be skeptical of admissions programs that take account of race to foster educational diversity.

Funny. I remember when affirmative action had to shift to a policy of fostering "diversity" because previous affirmative action attempts to get more negroes and beaners into colleges were failures. The affirmative action rationale for admitting low-scoring negroes and beaners had been the false notion that their lower SAT scores were due to their coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. Unfortunately for the advocates of race-based affirmative action, disadvantaged Whites were out-scoring negroes and beaners who came from backgrounds of relative advantage.

Poor White kids were beating rich negroes and beaners. The whole rationale for race-based affirmative action collapsed.

So, the rationale for affirmative action shifted to the pursuit of "diversity". Accordingly, it was good for the schools and their students to be racially "diverse". Although poor White kids could beat rich negro and beaner kids on the SAT, poor White kids obviously couldn't supply more racial "diversity" to an already overwhelmingly White student body.

Eureka! Diversity! Since racial diversity was now seen as good for the school and student body, they had a way to admit dumb negroes and beaners, in place of disadvantaged smart White kids!

So, "diversity" -- of race -- became a good in itself. Poor White kids with higher scores could be pushed aside in favor of admitting dumb negroes and beaners.

If you're not old enough to have witnessed the switch from Original Affirmative Action (which turned out to be a failure) to the pursuit of racial "diversity" you probably didn't know this. The idea of fostering "diversity" is pretty new nonsense. It came about because Original Affirmative Action failed.

Not surprisingly.

Re: Supreme Court to consider landmark challenge to Harvard and UNC affirmative action policies. FAGGERS GOING DOWN!

Race-conscious admissions policies are lawful.

"Under established precedent, to achieve the educational benefits that flow from student-body diversity, universities may consider race as one factor among many in a full, individualized evaluation of each applicant’s background, experiences and potential contributions to campus life."

This is the rationale they had to shift to when the rationale for Original Affirmative Action collapsed.

Poorer White kids were out-scoring negro and beaner applicants from backgrounds of relative affluence.

Poor White kids could out-score negroes and beaners, but poor White kids could obviously never supply racial diversity.

So racial diversity suddenly became an important admissions criterion.

Re: Supreme Court to consider landmark challenge to Harvard and UNC affirmative action policies. FAGGERS GOING DOWN!

In the North Carolina case, the plaintiffs [argued that] the university discriminated against White and Asian applicants by giving preference to black, hispanic and native American ones. The university responded that its admissions policies fostered educational diversity and were lawful under longstanding Supreme Court precedents.

Let's hope this comes to an end so that more-deserving poor White kids have a fair shot.

And of course, "the educational benefits that flow from student-body diversity" were never defined, or explained. Because there are none. Not only are there no benefits, it is in fact a severe drawback for all concerned.
Standards are lowered, the groidals disrupt, delay, and generally wreck the educational process for students with the actual ability to learn. Profoundly wrong all around.

You're wrong. They're arguing against all racial discrimination. In the case against Harvard, they're saying that Harvard discriminates against orientals even worse than it discriminates against Whites, but they're arguing against all racial discrimination (which favors negroes and beaners to the disadvantage of orientals and Whites).

The Petitioner in the cases is Students for Fair Admissions, Inc. (SFFA). SFFA is made up of orientals and Whites. In it's Petition for a Writ of Certiorari, SFFA says it sued Harvard "on behalf of its members including Asian-American students." In the companion case against UNC, SFFA makes even more explicit its concern over discrimination against Whites as well as against orientals.

It's kind of silly to think the case would only seek to eliminate racial discrimination against orientals, and it's even sillier to think the Court would prohibit discrimination against orientals but permit discrimination against Whites.

Wasn't affirmative action by state schools shut down by the Supremes about 10 years ago? I was thinking it was a Michigan case.

I understand that the courts have been whittling away at it, but I don't keep up with it.

Will that be before or after you post valid links showing proof of all your 'qanon' accusations?

If you don't like living in a multiracial democracy, I'm sure there are other nations you could move to.

Its not reverse racism, as there are no quotas, nor are there different thresholds for different races.

Then why do they do admissions based on skin color and nationality?

wrote:

Its one factor.

I can tell you a little about it from a state school perspective. Don't know anything specific about the private universities, but the same basic group of people seem to get hired at all these places.

Many times, kids from other countries are fully paid for by those nations. They also pay full tuition, unlike the in state students. So the university makes a lot more money from them.

By the time it gets to who is admitted, there are usually many more qualified applicants than there are slots to fill. The question is, what to do then. The university wants to admit students it thinks will fit in and graduate. Also, future donations depend on a long running relationship with the student.
