Engineers are licensed professionals and what they design has to work or they will be sued into oblivion and possibly charged criminally.
Nobody who has used a computer would dare drive over a bridge designed by a software "engineer".

Software is put into all sorts of safety and life critical applications every day. And using a thirty year old troll only proves that you have no imagination. Here is a piss-poor troll that, while being piss-poor, is still better than yours: http://f2bbs.com/thread/55690

Phillip_McCavityIf you drive across a bridge constructed in the last 20 years, it was designed by software.

I have a GED in software Engineering.

Yep, just like sanitation engineers. It's important to make sure that operating rooms are properly cleaned with the right chemicals and that they put yellow signs up to help make sure that nobody slips and hurts themselves.

Yes, I read that in the other thread and when I was done laughing, I posted the reminder. Hell, just the fact that someone who dropped out of high school is a qualified software "engineer" renders the term meaningless, which of course only bolsters my point.
Not everyone is an actual engineer and it accomplishes nothing positive to pretend otherwise.

Reminder bump. Is anyone going to lose their license to write and implement software over this Equifax negligence? Of course not.
QED.

Thank you for pointing this out.
Software "engineers" are shyt people whose work could, and is, done by India street shytters.
Not a good career to get into these days unless you enjoy a $110k salary living in a fuqing dump like San Francisco where rent for a shythole will easily take half.
Software engineers are really stupid, ignorant dumbasses.
How bout I call myself a shoeshine engineer? Or maybe a car wash engineer? How about Spanky being a cock sucking engineer?

anon user #3Some are engineers, others are just code monkeys or hackers.
I know at my school my major was actually in the engineering department.
