Word was Wiles was basically his Yes-woman telling him what he wanted to hear.  She kept telling him that the GOP would win the election.  So this is probably a reaction to that.

Some people see Chief of Staff as equivalent to a Cabinet position.  Trump has only fired women at that level: Noem, Bondi, Chavez-DeRemer (Dept of Labor and really messy), Gabbard and now Wiles.  Plus Guilfoyle and short-termed press secretary Zacharia.
