In South Carolina, Annie Andrews is leading Darline Graham, the Republican incumbent, with around half the vote counted so far in the Senate race. While many of the state’s larger counties have reported around half their results, Richland County, home to the city of Columbia, has not reported any yet. Richland could be a strong source of votes for Andrews, as Kamala Harris won the county by 35 percentage points in 2024. In a typically red state that Democrats are looking to flip, our election forecast is leaning in Andrews’s direction.

No surprise here but Dems flip NC too:

It can be easy to overlook former Gov. Roy Cooper’s victory in North Carolina’s Senate race because Republicans abandoned the race weeks ago. But Cooper is the first Democrat to win a Senate race there since 2008, and the state has repeatedly broken the hopeful hearts of Democrats in Senate races since then.
