Daytona Beach police arrest 15-year-old girl who typed 'how to kill the president' on school account, report states

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —

Daytona Beach police on Friday arrested a 15-year-old girl who had typed "how to kill the president," followed by "im just kidding," on a school-issued OneDrive account, according to her affidavit.

A school resource officer at Mainland High responded around 11 a.m. after the principal received a Gaggle alert.

Gaggle, which describes itself as AI-powered student safety software, alerted multiple faculty, staff members, and law enforcement agencies to what the student had typed, according to the affidavit.

"It has been publicly known (that) President Donald Trump is coming to Daytona Beach. Her comments were made the same day the President is due to arrive. (Her) comments 'im just kidding' shows that she knew any reasonable person would view her original comments as a threat," the affidavit states (sic).

As the officer tried to detain the 15-year-old, she allegedly resisted by first attempting to exit their office, then by kicking and swinging her arms in an attempt to avoid being handcuffed, police said.

The officer reported they bear-hugged the teen, "redirected" her to the floor, and she continued to avoid being detained by laying on her arms.

"During the tussle with (the girl), my department issued taser broke off the holder depriving me the use of my equipment. (A school guardian) assisted, and (the teen) was eventually placed in handcuffs and physically detained," the affidavit states (sic).

The girl was arrested and taken to the Family Resource Center, police said. She faces charges of a written/electronic threat to kill, depriving police of means to protect or communicate, and resting without violence, according to the affidavit.

News of the girl's arrest followed that of a 21-year-old woman elsewhere in Volusia County — Allison Albro — who said she was joking when she posted to social media, in part, "Going to the trump rally in my city tmr so I can shoot him with my glock!"

This is actually pretty common.  They aren't looking for a conviction... just looking to throw some ice water on this type of behavior.

Sounds like the "student" is a big one and has learned how to be a failure in life.
