No holding back. I want 6 Supreme Court justices included. Not just Trump (if he's alive): every last person who carried out his orders. Every pilot. Every policeman. Every ICE agent. Every Congressman. Every contractor. Every family member. Every bank.

It's a laughable thought that these people will get punished

Nixon resigned and was pardoned for his crimes. The investigation into all of his dirty tricks was promptly dropped and people like Rumsfeld and Cheney walked away scott free. Iran contra was swept under the rug, Reagan faced no reckoning, neither did Bush the Elder nor any of the others except for Oliver North, who fell on his sword and walked away into a very profitable career as a right wing pundit with a slap on the wrist while folks like Casey and McFarland simply walked.

And Trump? Ah man, Garland, for whatever reason, slow walked his prosecution for the Jan 6 insurrection, faced no punishment for his thirty four felony convictions and the Supreme Court gave him a perpetual get out of jail free card. Trump will use that card to escape punishment, or if needed tie everything up in court until he dies. He will issue pre-emptive pardons to all(or at least those who pay him), and everything will be dismissed, much like in the aftermath of Nixon, in the name of "healing the nation" and "bringing the American people back together". That is if a Democrat is in charge. If a Republican gets the nod in '28, nothing will be said, nothing will be done so as not to remind the public of their complacency in these matter, and the crime and corruption will continue into the next generation and beyond.

As far as Musk and the other rich weirdos and Trump backers, well, they're rich, need I say anything more?

Yes this is a bummer reply, a cynical post, but only because I've seen it repeated over and over. I hope I'm wrong, but I won't believe it until I see it.

I think it will be different this time

We are seeing the repercussions of not punishing the criminals all these years. We are facing the loss of democracy. Especially if Trump actually ever imprisons any of his enemies (beyond unknown immigrants). Past history never considered any of this.

i expect Trump will die before the end of his term--I'm hoping he'll be too caught up in his own demise to pardon people before he goes.
As much as I wanted to see him in an orange jumpsuit, I think it's too late for that. I'll settle for imprisoning every last person who enabled him or followed illegal orders. Including SCOTUS and his family.

Going after Musk given his wealth will be tough. But we must break the illegal immigrant Trillionaire who cancelled all the agencies that were investigating him. This will come out. It will help if we have already imprisoned all the Trump enablers, so people won't be eager to be implicated in his crimes.

We must end Citizens United. We must break monopolies. We must reform the Supreme Court. It might require some SCOTUS impeachments. I'm not saying this will be easy, but by the time we get there civilization and the planet will have shown it to be necessary.

It will take anew generation of leaders. But I think we are already seeing them. Ossoff, Al Sayed, Talerico, AOC....

I was living in Cleveland when John (Ivan) Demjanjuk
1 hr ago
was being investigated after Holocaust survivors identified him as Ivan the Terrible, a guard at the Sobibor death camp. He came to the US after the war and became a naturalized citizen who lived in a Cleveland suburb.

I heard people say that he was an old man by then, so he should be left alone to live in peace.

My response was that thousands of old men had died in death camps, along with millions of men and women of all ages, plus children and infants. Why should Demjanjuk receive the consideration for his age that he denied to so many others that he participated in murdering?

That's how I feel about the people complicit with the installation of Trump as president and those who have supported and aided actions that have killed tens of thousands of Americans (during covid), imprisoned children in cages, killed more Americans by denying them healthcare, murdered citizens and immigrants on city streets, deported people to foreign torture prisons, established concentration camps in the US, murdered Latin American fishermen, killed over 100 children in an Iranian school.

Why should those people get a "forgive and forget" pass after such horrific crimes? They will continue if not stopped.

Nixon should have been prosecuted. The fact that he wasn't still chaps my ass, and I take no comfort from the fact that his pardon cost Ford the 1976 election.

Nobody cares about your low brow threads. That’s why you have to reply to yourself seventeen times.
