I'm 82 years old and my wife and I are still in excellent shape given our ages but.....
We could do it ourselves but we hire a lady to come to do the heavy chores around the house for three hours every other week. Nice job cleaning and she handles the stuff a 82 year old shouldn't be doing such as climbing ladders, changing curtains or lightbulbs.
Cost is $225/month or $37.50 per hour. It is what she does for a living and we know six other ppeole who hire her directly but their is more.. at $37.50 an hour she works at least 40 full hours every week.
We have used her for nearly ten years now and never a single problem.
She is black but I do not have a problem with that.
If you never need to go into an assissted living you can avoid living with groids if you have the money. I have a couple friends living in assissted care but you need to be prepared to spend at lease $7,000 monthly to avid groids.

$7,000/month is low-end in a high cost of living area.
If you're in a HCoL area, expect to pay at least $10,000/month for a 200 sf studio in a good assisted living facility. Enough room for a twin bed, desk, and sink. Outside your door will be a shared kitchen, dining area, lounge.
But it's worth it. You do NOT want a low-end assisted living facility, where you'll be helplessly soaking in your own urine & feces, while laughing nogs beat you to death.
