In Canada you have free basic healthcare.  So anyone can get treatment.

Here in America if you don't have insurance, you are likely going to have to suffer in some way you shouldn't have to.  Hell the Baggers are even trying to make some with terminal diseases have to work while they die.  Imagine coughing up blood and having to work at McDonalds not knowing if you will die there that day all because some greedy fuqing hypocritical fuq politician who cheats on his wife and inherited all his wealth thinks you have it too easy.

So MAID would be a good way for some to avoid a lot of suffering and pain for people being left in the dust by our barbaric healthcare system.

Also because of how the system bleeds you dry, it could also be a way to save up a lot more money to give to your kin before medical care eats up all of that.  Would you rather leave $200,000 to your kids and check out three months earlier on your terms OR would you rather leave them $0 and spend three months in a hospital bed barely conscious and sitting in your shyt half the time?

It's not that anyone forces anyone to use MAID.  It's that you have the option.
