A job-site stunt in Minnesota has ended in a worker's death and a manslaughter charge. Prosecutors say 34-year-old Christopher Boone Crimmins killed co-worker Tyler Anthony Lynch, 26, while the two were working with a truck-mounted hydraulic grapple during a tree-trimming job in Apple Valley on Thursday, per NBC News. According to the criminal complaint, Crimmins moved the grapple by watching its shadow to make it appear as if it were grabbing Lynch, but instead closed it on Lynch's head.

Police arrived to find Lynch with a severe head injury and significant blood loss. He was pronounced dead at the scene, per Fox News. A witness said they saw the machine strike or pinch Lynch's head. Crimmins, the only worker licensed to operate the grapple, reportedly told police the pair had been "f------ around" on the job. Prosecutors said he was watching shadows on the ground, "not monitoring the actual grapple or Lynch." He's charged with second-degree manslaughter and faces up to 10 years in prison. His next court date is Sept. 10.
