Someone asked me the other day what the real difference is between a Black guy and a Jewish guy.

I thought about it for half a second. Skin tone? History? Who gets the Oprah special?

Nah.

How they steal your money.

One of them walks up, points a gun that may or may not fire, takes your wallet, your phone, and the shoes if the laces are clean. Efficient. Local. You feel it in the parking lot. Cops write it up as a "dispute." Your insurance company pretends they care. Done in ninety seconds.

The other one smiles, shakes your hand, and sells you a mortgage you cannot pronounce, a legal bill that multiplies like rabbits, or a war you get to pay for while he lectures you about empathy from a balcony in Tel Aviv. You feel that one over thirty years. Compound interest. AIPAC dinners. Your kid's college fund quietly migrates into someone else's family foundation. No gun. Just paperwork and a moral halo so bright you apologize while you bleed.

Different tools. Same result. Your pockets end up empty and you are somehow the asshole for noticing.

I am not saying one is better. Robbery is robbery. At least the parking lot version has the decency to look like crime. The other one comes with a museum, a lobby, and a speech about never forgetting, which is funny because you are the one who forgets your own balance.

Anyway. That is the difference. Method. Timeline. Whether they leave a bruise or a spreadsheet.
