Samples_BoiAlmost every place that a google search suggested would accept them turned out to be cancelled, including all the LA Sheriff's stations which removed their sharps boxes last year.
The one place that took them from me: a LGBTQ+ friendly HIV clinic painted with rainbow stripes. The people were so nice.
As a side benefit, they were able to renew my Gay Rectal Asspox Certification Card from California.

Your next injection should be lead-based olg.

I just asked my local pharmacy and they didn’t take them but a quick search revealed that they can be put into a container, taped up and marked 'sharps' and placed in the trash.
In other words we have poor folks sifting the trash at a facility.

SamplesBoiChuck them in the campfire. At least your poz will be sterilized. That's the only real threat.
They have one of those boxes in the men's bathroom at the Cabela's in Hoffman. They have a lot of obese customers like OLG.

It's against the law in California to put sharps in the trash in any container. They are trying to protect the workers.
There's a mailback program but it is very wasteful. It costs the state something like $50 per container which only holds a month or two of sharps.
So I wanted to return it in person maybe once every 6 months. Shockingly, there's almost no way to do it outside a handful of locations.

You should be put in a sealed container. Final warning.

LA County is well set up for this. Here are your main options:
**Best starting point: the official locator**
Go to **cleanla.lacounty.gov** or call **(888) CLEAN-LA** — that's 888-253-2652. You can find the nearest drop-off site from there.
**LA County Sheriff's Station drop boxes**
There are drop boxes at Sheriff's stations throughout the county, including East LA, Lakewood, Lancaster, Lomita, Marina Del Rey, San Dimas, South LA, Temple City, Walnut, and West Hollywood (780 N. San Vicente Blvd.).
**Pharmacies**
Walgreens, CVS, and Rite Aid locations in LA often have permanent sharps collection boxes — but call ahead to confirm before making the trip.
**Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facilities**
These offer free drop-off of household sharps. The MED-Project website (med-project.org) has a zip code locator to find the nearest one.
**Free containers if you need one**
You can pick up a free sharps container at the LA County Dept. of Public Works, 900 S. Fremont Ave., Annex Building, 3rd Floor, Alhambra — and at various other distribution sites around the county.
**Reminder:** whatever container you use, it needs to be sealed and puncture-resistant before you bring it in. Standard approved sharps containers qualify; if you're improvising, a rigid plastic bottle with a taped, sealed lid labeled "SHARPS" is acceptable.
