Reg users can now remember an alternate posting name.

On post forms, registered users will see a new checkbox: “Use this alias on all future posts until unchecked.” If you enter a different unregistered name in the Name field, you can check that box and future posts will keep using that name until you turn it off.

The existing “Dot out all future posts until unchecked” option still works the same way. If dot-out is checked, the alias option is unavailable.

You can also manage this from your profile preferences. If you are currently dotted out, the preference will still show as “Dot out all future posts.” If you are using a remembered alias, it will show as “Remember alias on all future posts.” Turning it off there will return you to posting under your registered name.

This works in both legacy and modern views.
