Texas in the summer:  searing heat and red tide on the beaches so bad the air makes people sick.  Every year the no oxygen/dead zone in the Gulf gets bigger.

I lived in Texas for three years.

It's the most awful place I have ever been.

Even worse than Florida, but not by much.

AI Overview

No, the Gulf of Mexico "dead zone" does not grow larger every single year. While it remains a persistent, seasonal environmental crisis off the Texas-Louisiana coast, its size fluctuates annually based heavily on spring rainfall, river discharge, and the amount of farm fertilizers and nutrients washing down the Mississippi River

AI Overview
Red tide in the Gulf of America—most notably along the coasts of Florida and Texas—is caused by harmful blooms of the microscopic algae Karenia brevis. When these blooms occur, they produce toxins that can kill marine life and become airborne, leading to respiratory irritation in humans.

Current Conditions

Florida: Karenia brevis was recently observed at only background concentrations in isolated samples across Southwest and Northwest Florida, with no significant coastal impacts.

Texas: No major active red tide events are currently threatening Texas coastlines

Everything you say seems to be wrong and easily disproven.

Red states are not leading in schooling. That report comes from an OPINION article, not an actual study. If you look at ACTUAL data, Texas is far down the list in schools.

They are leading in attracting Bagger companies, because they have Bagger friendly policies that embrace total batshyt insane Bagger capitalism where billionaires get to do whatever they want with absolutely zero oversight in anyway while average citizens are treated like slaves and criminals.

It isnt opinion. The New York Times story was the opinion piece.

“Currently”…. It’s seasonal.  Try August or September, when parking lots near beaches have to be closed because of the toxic air and stench from washed up dead marine life.

And it is getting more frequent.  Decades ago it was rare, now it’s a regular seasonal event.

AI Overview

There are zero recorded human deaths from red tide (brevetoxin or Karenia brevis exposure) across any U.S. state, including its primary endemic zones in Florida and Texas. While red tides cause debilitating illnesses, commercial shellfish closures strictly prevent fatal poisonings
