I don't know if papaya can take the cold swings in my house. This banana tree is supposed to produce fruit in my climate, but it never has, I think because I have it in too small a pot.

Mango trees grow to about 100 feet tall. The lower canopy is around 30 feet.
They only grow in subtropical growing zones.

Well my ceiling is 15ft so I don't think it would fit.

You'd need a rather wide pot for the roots to spread out properly.

I think you're supposed to trim banana down seasonally.

It's too cold for tropical fruit in Sausalito. As ugly as it is, Los Angeles is exploding with wonderful fruit and floral from the tropics. I have 3 mango trees, a lemon tree, and 2 orange trees.

So yes, cut it down.

I think so too. The whole plant I got during 2020. Its never been cut down.
