You have a reading comprehension problem.
The statement "people are rich because of hard work" implies that all the people who are rich are rich because of hard work, not that all people who work hard are rich.
It sucks to have the reading ability of a two year old, doesn't it?

Anyway, there is no reason someone who works hard but does a very common job like being a barista or hosekeeping should become rich. That's just not going to happen.
