80% of oil and gas executives believe Hormuz will not open until August or later. Severe recession/$10 gas inevitable

Oilfield services company Baker Hughes (BKR) assumes in its financial guidance that the U.S.-Iran war continues at least through the end of June, and the Strait of Hormuz may not be fully operational until later this year, CFO Ahmed Moghal said Friday.

"There's still a great deal of uncertainty regarding ultimately the duration and depth of the conflict," Moghal said on the company's Q1 earnings conference call.

The assumption that Hormuz may not reopen for months is widely shared in the energy industry, as the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas released a survey this week of nearly 100 oil and gas executives that showed nearly 80% believe the strait will not reopen until August or later.
