SpankyThe base recipe is simple:
- One 14oz can of corned beef hash (American)
- One 16oz can of refried beans (Mexican)
Empty both into a skillet and heat through.
The magic comes in the fusion of flavors from different cultures in the same pot. The obvious one is to go Hispanic since your already have the refried beans. But my favorite is a TRIFECTA of cultural influences.
To the above I add:
- Mexican, hot sauce: I use the stuff from my local Mexican restaurant, but you could use store-bought. I'd go for something closer to a salsa roja than something like Cholula. About 4 tablespoons.
- Asian, hot sauce: I use chili crisp, but you could use something like Ning Chi or siracha. About 4 tablespoons.
- Asian, spices: I use mala seasoning and gongjiao peppercorn (tribute peppers). I use 1/2tsp of mala and 1/2tbsp of tribute peppers.
Cook until incorporated and hot.
At the end, mix in:
- English, shredded cheddar cheese, 1/4 cup
- French, 4 French-style* scrambled eggs - you should cook these in a separate pan (I season the eggs with a LOT of fresh-ground black pepper and 1/2tsp of Herbes de Provence)
Serve with:
- Mexican, soft corn tortillas
FUQING DELICIOUS!!
But you can take this in 100 directions. That's the beauty!
* If you don't know what French-style scrammbled eggs are, then you need to look this up. They are far superior to American-style scrambled eggs.

I can't eat like I used to, but that is still a really heavy-duty meal. For me it is two large meals.

VP_Spiro_T_CheneyMeal ideas for the post-war economic collapse:
Go down to the local farm supply store, get a 50 lb sack of dry COB (corn, barley, oats), a 5 lb salt biock and a couple gallons of blackstrap molasses. Should cost less than $40.
Mix ingredients in 25 gallon drum, add water and bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer for 30 minutes.
Makes a nutritious porridge to feed 100.

When I was a kid, my father once cooked me bird seed for breakfast (which is millet).
