The number of oil and gas rigs actively drilling in the U.S. fell by 3 to 545, falling for the third time in four weeks, Baker Hughes said Friday in its latest survey.

During the week ended April 10, the number of active drilling rigs targeting crude oil in the U.S. remained unchanged at 411, but gas rigs fell by 3 to 127, and 7 rigs were classified as miscellaneous.

The total rig count was down by 38, or 6.6%, from the same time last year, while oil rigs are down by 61, or 12.9%, and gas rigs are up 22, or 20.9%, from a year ago.
