Because streaming services are getting worse & more expensive all the time.
I also like to watch a variety of content, I could easily spend 10 minutes every day of my life watching apps load when switching. I get ~300 minutes to do something other than watch apps load on my TV screen every month by paying Xfinity.

Many communities have multiple ISPs. Why use Xfinity when there are alternatives?

Because I am an old person who wants to switch between two sportsball games and the news in one sitting.
If I do this via apps, I will sit and watch the apps load for 90-120 seconds each time I switch.
By the end of the night I will have watched 85% of the content I was looking for and 15% app loading screens.
With cable I can change between them in less than one second, wasting ZERO time.
I am not sure how I can make this more clear to you.
