TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) - Authorities said a man caused a two-vehicle crash before he was fatally shot after confronting the other driver near Grant and Silverbell in Tucson late Thursday, March 5.

The Tucson Police Department confirmed the shooting happened around 7:20 p.m., and the shooter was not arrested.

The TPD said 34-year-old Juan F. Lopez caused a minor crash and then confronted the driver of the other vehicle, a 31-year-old man he knew.

The TPD said Lopez died at a local hospital, and that the shooter called 911 and was not injured.

“Detectives are continuing their investigation and will present their findings to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review,” the TPD said in a release on Friday.
