Really good weather. Zero accidents. Just a few malfunctions and some spilled gas. Good racing!

Taking tomorrow off but will be back Saturday (probably) and Sunday for sure.

The crowds were really thin but this is the least popular day with mostly qualifying. Saw a lot of Corvettes and Camaros. Sunday is the big day.

Back in the day we'd buy pit passes and check out all the machines before heading into the stands to drink beer for the next 8 hours. The show started slow... there'd be a grudge match between a Pinto and a Rambler station wagon. The quality of the racing would steadily improve as the day moved on. By the time the funny cars and top fuelers fired up and rattled the stands the crowd was primed for the spectacle. A good time was had by all.

Oddly Saturday had more people than Sunday and Sunday was the main day. A bit strange....
