I am preparing for my colonoscopy - so much fun!
Can't eat food I am stuck on clear liquids.
I can have coffee but it must be black.
I start drinking the shyt MiraLAX starting at noon today.
I had this done about eight years ago but eight years ago I started the day before the procedure but my procedure doesn't start until Wednesday.
Anyone else ever get the tube up the ass? Thank God they will knock me out before that happens.

Have then prescribe SurePrep from CVS/Walgreens. Easier than the laxative bs the give out.
It should be free, provided the don't find anything. Maybe. If you're illegal, you'll get the best hose-out for free.

I am in the middle of drinking 28 oz of MiraLAX and it really isn't that bad.
It's mixed in with Gator Aid.... Will I shyt tonight?

Just be careful about the color of GatorAid. I think they want you to avoid red, but that might be wrong or there might be more colors.
Not a big deal. They knocked me out, I woke up a little later with a clean bill of health saying I don't need to be back for ten years. Then I got food on the way home.

Coloscopy is 24 hours of misery leading up to falling asleep and waking up with a greasy butt.
However that first meal after the procedure tastes damn good, since your hungry as hell.

Whole lotta liquid is about to drop out of you.
I've done this twice and will do it again next year I think.
They put you in twilight state for the procedure, as you said. Its not really knocked out but you won't remember or feel it.
Especially after the first time I got it, the lesions they fixed in my made digesting food a lot easier. I used to get a lot of pain
when digesting. It made me think if the ulcer that kept my grandfather from eating spicy foods was really that, or an
untreated lesion.
The prep is the worst part, really.

I managed to avoid having one until this year. I am 57. But I can't put it off any longer.

There is almost zero chance that that is correct unless you had a massive structure that was causing anemia.
The colon is not going to affect your digestion that directly. Digestion and absorption primarily take place in the stomach and small intestine. Plus, "lesions" or polyps are generally tiny and non-obstructive and not involved in motility in any meaningful way at all.
A millimeter of mucosal tissue being removed is not something that is going to cause an "improvement" you can feel.
You may believe your experience is so, but it isn't. You might be experiencing a placebo effect, or maybe the prep reset your gut flora in a good way.

A colonoscopy is no BFD. I've had four.
I get some clear veg broth or miso soup (get the instant stuff and just make the soup part--don't add the seaweed and bonito). Make up a batch of vegetarian lemon jello. That'll get you through the clear liquids phase. You show up, they give you some fentanyl and benadryl, you lie there for 15-20 minutes and you're done.
