Didn't Salesforce, Inc. (CRM) just prove that AI can do the work for regular humans?

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff announced up to 50% of his company's workload is now being handled by artificial intelligence.

That announcement had left many looking for jobs nervous as it implies AI is increasingly doing work that used to be done by humans.

Since then Benioff admited that he has been able to cut about 1,000 jobs because of AI, but the CEO has also hired more than that to sell and maintain the company's AI products.

Salesforce had around 75,000 employees. So if AI is doing half the work (checks calculations with ChatGPT to confirm), we should have 37,500 layoffs. Not this, “I fired 1,000 and then hired more than that to maintain AI apps, even though AI is doing half the work” nonsense.
