Gimme strength. My ultra liberal houseguests return Monday, staying for 5 days.
It’s been on & off for 2 months, this is their last stay before the snowbirds disappear for the winter, not returning until possibly fall 2026. Maybe never. They were extremely nonplussed when I brought Chick Fil A home for a meal, spouted off something about them not hiring women, wanted women uneducated and at home raising kids. 
I will be subjected to CAT 5 TDS from these educated people who really should know better. They can’t be helped at this point 
Any attempt to reason with them is pointless. It’s like a dying hospice patient, just try to keep them comfortable I guess and put up with the stench for a bit longer.

A couple of weeks ago my TDS houseguest was here when a UPS plane crashed in Kentucky in a fireball.
Instantly and immediately they screamed “TRUMP!!!” before any further details were announced. They also screamed the name of Trump’s transportation cabinet guy, I have no idea who he is, only remember the Mayor Pete guy.
The TDS made them immediately think Trump caused a plane crash, for dozens of invented reasons.
As more info emerged they couldn’t process reality of an unfortunate accident that had nothing to do with the govt shutdown or Trump. They couldn’t stand to hear any more info and had no interest in what really happened or # of casualties
It’s the strangest disease I’ve ever seen.

It is absolutely a real psychiatric pathology.
It's the one mental illness that is socially acceptable, the only one that those who suffer it don't feel it necessary to hide their affliction. It's actually quite useful, as it helps identify those who are to be avoided/not trusted - not because of their politics, but because they have a mental illness. If it weren't Trump, they'd be obsessing about something else, consumed with intrusive thoughts, etc.
