If the construction firms followed US employment law, they'd have no problem.
There is no labor shortage.  Pay properly & people will work.

Leftists are a jumble of contridictions.  On the one hand, they complain ceaselessly about "worker pay," and how capital exploits the working class.  On the other hand, they promote policy - illegal immigration - that actually lowers worker pay and allows capital to exploit the working class. 

I use to think that your garden variety leftist was a hypocrite, but it's now quite clear that most of them are really stupid and/or hate the (white) working class.

Because the illegal isn't competing in the labor market fairly - he's able to undercut a native because he doesn't carry the same costs.  Using illegal labor isn't just breaking the law, it's also breaking the law of free market competition.  The result is an unfair depression of wages that disadvantages legal workers.
