Give the Chinese credit for knowing the pressure points against Trump's political base.

SamplesBoiWe'll use it domestically for biodiesel.
We should let it be known there will be 587% tariffs on all Chinese goods in 24 months and manufacturers can do what they want to move their production around during the transition window.

That's almost certainly what will happen. Remnants become feed. It may not result in the same price level but I never claimed that.
Now debunk the second half of my message.

So where are the slopes getting their soy from now? You can't just magic up 3+ billion in crops in one year, and the shelves at the local Chinkomarts are still fully stowed out with tofu.
Gonna call bullshyt.

You could try googling "soybean producers".

You could try answering my fuqing question. Googling 'soybean producers' suggests the three main players are Brazil, the US and Argentina and that the needle has not moved much over the past few years.

You could also pay a little attention, and note that China did something pretty similar in Trump's first term. USDA gave US farmers $28B in subsidies.

There's a lot of moving parts there.
China not buying US soybeans will mean the US has a lot more soybeans on hand
That will lower the market clearing price for soybeans affecting farmers incomes.
The lower cost of beans will mean our beans will be more attractive to other nations that do not have tariffs against the US
As those nations buy more of US soybeans they'll buy less from other nations
Those other soybean exporting nations will now have a surplus that China will buy at a slightly higher price
China will also simply consume less soybeans. I doubt the government will constrain it so much that there are health issues but this is China... they might go "great leap forward" on us.

Oh great… to be price competitive it’ll need a massive pork barrel subsidy program just like corn alcohol.
Nothing like spending tax dollars on stupid inefficient shyt.
