ImperialExecutivePoor people today almost always choose luxuries over necessities.
A poor person today never saves money, and he never reduces his standard of living to match his low income level. In the rare cases when he does save money, it's almost always for short term goals, or it just gets wasted on some family bullshyt or it's lost due to theft.
I'd never met a poor person who didn't smoke and drink. Are cigarettes and beer free?
I challenge you to find a poor person who understands that to have $5 in a week, you have to save $1 today, then $1 tomorrow, etc. Those dollars just get spent, and in a week, the poor person doesn't have the five bucks he needed.
There's a reason why convenience stores are a booming enterprise. Poor people have poor impulse control. Instead of shopping wisely at a cut-rate supermarket, they walk or drive down the street and spend 4 times as much for groceries at a convenience store.
Poor people are uniformly stupid. But largely they are just lazy. And that's why they're poor.

SamplesBoiMy luxuries are free. And another 50 of them are coming from Fairchild tomorrow!
........................................................................
Wrong.
The poorest of all are "middle class" people that live check to check taking out 2nd mortgages and HELOCS to support an unsustainable lifestyle. They are literally one check away from being homeless and having their leased car repoed.
Chronically poor people can not get credit so they simply can not enter into a ticking bomb life where one job loss or illness means you are fuqed. The poor that own a shabby house usually owe nothing and can survive not having a check come in better than McMansion dwellers.
You have all poor people grouped the same as whytes.

Hey IE, it's great to see you again!
Every family needs to save at least $100 to a mutual funds IRA account every week but many can't save $1 because beer and cigarettes come first.
$300 a week is better.
The average annual return for a mutual fund varies significantly by fund type, but historical averages are roughly 9–12% for equity funds, 6–9% for hybrid funds, and 3–5% for bond funds over the long term. However, the actual return an investor experiences can be lower due to factors like poor timing with purchases and sales. For example, a Morningstar study found that investors realized an average annual return of 6.3% compared to the average mutual fund's 7.3% over the last decade, a gap of about 15%.
@ $300 a week how much would be in the account in 30 years earning 8%?
........................................................................
Diarrhetrius Brown$300 weekly @8% for 30 years is Your total savings
$1,831,125. 83.
A millionaire!
Even $100 per week ends up a lot.

FloydWhy work? where I live average person on welfare can make up to $68,000 a year in benefits there really isn't anybody poor in America.

You make an EXCELLENT point. By having cash SAVED and on hand, you can do wonderful things. It's called CAPITAL. If you have $200,000 on hand, you can OWN a $1,000,000 positive cash flow property (if you choose wisely). Hold on to it for a couple of decades (maintaining it well) and you will have a $ FOUR million property, free and clear, generating enough profit to live in luxury.
Wasting that money on street drugs - NOT recommended.

I love how Baggers are absolute fuqing experts on what the poor do, what blacks think, and how women should behave but, darn it, they just can’t keep their penises out of children.
........................................................................
Diarrhetrius BrownThe thing is if husband and wife both work saving a lousy $100 a week should not be any problem at all.
In ten years you would have $77,995.97
In twenty years you would have $246,381.26
In thirty years you would have $609,912.47
In forty years you would have $1,394,749.08 and ready to retire a millionaire.
Even at a lousy 5% interest in forty years you would have $641,940.19
The only debt you should ever have is to purchase a house. Buy a used car and pay fuqing cash for it.

I'm not sure, but it was well known on the red boards, so I'm sure someone else knows.
What I do know is that they should have arrested Fauci instead.

Chronically poor people don't own homes. They are poor because they make horrible financial decisions which means they never made good enough financial decisions to save up for a down payment and to have good credit.
